The Peak, Hong Kong. 1991.

This is a design competition proposal for the tram station at the summit of Victoria Peak, overlooking the northern face of Hong Kong Island. From this site, one of the world’s most impressive urban vistas lies below. Our proposed design is composed of two main solid forms on both sides with a large glass sphere in the middle. The glass sphere is supported by an inter-connected bridge onto both sides. The bridge provides space for restaurants and a drinking lounge. Since Victoria Peak is covered by cloud for six months during the year, we proposed that visual images be projected on the inner surface of the sphere using clouds as the white surface of a screen.
